My New Favorite Phone Company!
Yesterday Carrie sent me a great message that her daughter, Jessica, has just received a $2500.00 scholarship from our local telephone company called Strata. I thought that was absolutely wonderful and asked her if it had come in the mail. She said it had and so...out of curiosity, I ran down to our mailbox to check it. To my surprise there was a letter from Strata to Cayden. I was very surprised and so I opened it right up. I read his letter once and then I had to stop and read it again to see if I was really reading it right. I was! Cado's letter informed him that he had just been awarded the Richard Adams Memorial Scholarship worth $10,000.00! I about died and just had to drive to Carrie's house to show here. She laughed because I couldn't stop shaking the whole time I was there. I still feel a little shaky when I reflect on what an incredible gift and blessing that is. I guess I won't be turning off my land line anytime in the near future. I LOVE STRATA! Thanks so very, very much!
Senior Night at Soccer
It was senior night at the Emery game. I got to be in charge of the senior goodies. We made some awesome candy leis and an amazing banner to honor these cute boys!
We've sure loved following this boy around the state. We're going to miss these games!
They all lined up for their picture.
Then they started to look down at the sign and I wondered what they were doing.
I went and gave Emery their senior goodies (isn't that nice of us to honor their seniors too!)
Then when I got back, I noticed that the boys had changed spots. It took me a minute to figure out why, but then I realized that NOW they were all lined up in the order that their names were on the sign! Now those are some smart kids! I can tell that they went to UNION!We've sure loved following this boy around the state. We're going to miss these games!
Gavin, Landen, Cado, Jace, Ty. Great buddies!
Park City Soccer
Team Captain's meeting right before the Park City game.
This was the back hit that knocked Cado down and made him hurt the rest of the game and days later. Soccer is a tough sport!
These boys played an excellent game against Park City.
We Think Alike
Mariah and I had to laugh the other night when we were going to her Junior High Honors dinner. We came out of our rooms and were pretty much a matching pair. We had on our pencil skirts, our black shirts, our beady necklaces and our half jackets. Great minds think alike I guess.
Easter Morning
This year the Easter Bunny did things a little differently. In the morning the Easter baskets were empty and the candy was hidden all over. Mariah and Cado were very busy finding all of that candy and they were most impressed that that bunny even hid some Gatorade.
Cado's New Assignment
This year Cado has been given a new assignment. He is now the Rue Goldberg assistant. Dave has helped Dayton, Bo and Cado with theirs and I think he is burned out. So, now Cado has the assignment, but a much harder task. He has to help Mariah figure out how to make this machine...cook toast!
Cache's Goodbye
Cache left on Friday and everyone at our house was sad to see him go. It was a lot of fun to get to know him better. He told his mom that he would really like to have a sister. He was so amazed that Cado would say, "we need some cookies" and TaDa...Mariah would make cookies!
Back to Mr. Mac
Well this is how we spent our spring break. We got to make a quick trip to Mr. Mac for Cado's missionary shopping. Seventeen hundred dollars later we were out of that store and Cado is almost ready to go.
Hunter's Playground
The work for Hunter's playground continues to move forward. Dayton and Bo have been completely impressed to see that Cado and Cache dug these six foot trenches all across the back yard just so we could move a water faucet!
Hopefully, they were equally impressed the Mariah and I dug up all of the concrete box dirt that is under the apple trees. I am determined to plant something in there this summer. Mariah wants flowers!
The chickens were as happy as could be. They stayed nearby as we dug so that they could eat every little worm that popped up.
