Cousin Pics in S.V.

It was Laken's homecoming and Townsen's farewell last Sunday. After the meeting we got to go to the Call Family Barn and enjoy a huge meal with a LOT of relatives. On the way out, we got to try to gather up all of the cousins for a picture. The funniest part about the whole thing was that we took pictures for a while before we realized that grandpa was NOT in them. Then we had to round him up and get him in there too :)

Fun Times with the Call's...Two of

We spent Thursday and Friday at Jim and Sandy's house. It was great! We had amazing food and great company. Brian and Dani came down Friday and spent the night. We went to the BYU creamery for supper and then half of the group went bowling and the other half went to the Bean Museum. Mariah and I had garlic, basil BLT's at the Creamery. A BLT will never be the same without garlic and basil! We have a new favorite :) YUM!

Mariah did Whitney's hair one night and her nails the next. Oh, how Mariah wishes she had a little sister! She keeps mentioning adoption as a viable option!

The Rocky Mountain Jam

We got to spend Thursday, Friday and Saturday in Salt Lake at the Rocky Mountain Jam. One hundred and ten teams were there from all over. Cado went with his team of 7 and Dave W. coached. The first game was against Calgary Canada. I think the combination of getting up at 5 a.m. to travel there and the fact that the Canadian team was filled with black boys, contributed to the team's one and only loss of the tournament. They calmed down after that and took control of the court! They beat Pleasant Grove, Taylorsville, an Idaho team and Clearfield. Cado came home pretty happy about the whole event, even though he was disappointed that he still didn't get a trophy!

Making Do!

Our septic problems have still not been resolved so we are figuring out new ways to live without using water in our house. The ever handy camper has been moved to the driveway and that is now our home for potty and showers. In fact, last night I even had a bath in that baby! The other issue we have had is figuring out how to wash our dishes. We've decided that letting the dogs help out is a win, win situation for all of us!

Washing our clothes is our next challenge. So far though...no one has told us that we stink. We'll take that as a good sign :)

Cado's Sweet 16!

Cado turned 16 yesterday. His buddies came over and surprised him. They hid in the storage room with their evil weapons. They had to wait quite a while and by the time Cado came downstairs...he was quite suspicious!

Needless to say, they still had a great time, ate lots of food and devoured the candybars that were hanging all over the basement.

How To Shower When You Can't Shower

The septic system backed up while Dave was in Orangeville. This basically means that we can't use any water in the house or it comes back up into our food storage room. (It is not a pretty sight.) So needless to say, Mariah put notes everywhere and the boys figured out a way to shower after they dug up the septic tank. That freezing cold water did not look very inviting, but I think they thoroughly enjoyed spraying each other and testing their manhood!

Dave's New Truck

Four wheel drive. A.M. Radio. Keyless start! Really! You just turn the metal part and this baby will start.
Fine exterior with cow poop already on the side!
Well broken in, seat covers, and automatic windows...as long as you can twist them.

You ask yourself...where did a sweet truck like this come from? Well, it came from Grandpa Law's best friend. He had had alzeimers for the past many years so it hadn't been driven much. When he passed away, Dave's dad grabbed at the chance of getting it for FREE! So, $1200.00 later we have our free 1984 GMC. That's exactly how old Dave's other truck was. The boys think this one is awesome though. We were just glad that it made it over the mountain!
