The Family Hike at the Law Reunion

We drove up a very steep mountain to view the sites! We got to go for a beautiful hike if you like beetle damaged trees! Oh well, it was still pretty. When we got to the top of the hill the kids instantaniously began throwing rocks down the cliffs. That must be some sort of inborn caveman spirit that still lives in us today!

This is the yearly log picture of all the cousins. Good thing we have a big log.
The card playing continued even in the suburban. Except for Bo, he was ready for some music.
There are no seatbelt rules in the mountains which makes getting 15 people up to the top of the mountain a lot more convenient!
Cado, Adrie and Bo. I think Bo is checking for ticks!
Dayton, Trevor and Cado.
The "young" girl cousins.

The family hike.

The Freezing Cold Splash Park!

An
Angie and I thought that it would be fun to take our girls to the Vernal Splash Park. It was fun but the girls kept saying the water was cold. We didn't believe them until they filled up water bottles and poured them on us! It was frigid! That's when Angie and I decided that we would just hang out in the sun!

You're still looking cold girls!

Mariah's Summer School Buddies

There was a lot of face painting going on in summer school. Each girl made herself into an animal. Can you guess what they are?

4th of July

Well, we didn't have many, o.k., we didn't have any plans for the 4th of July. As we stared blankly at each other that day, we finally decided that we'd better think of something to do. Fortunately, the mountains are close and we decided to take bikes, fishing stuff and food up there so that at least we could get some good pictures! That's really all that matters to a blogging family!!! The hardest part of the whole adventure was getting the four bikes in the back of the suburban. But it was well worth it for the 1 bike ride the kids went on. They basically went down the road on their bikes and came back claiming that their bikes still had all the ailments they had had before we left. Cado's handlebars fall down and his chain falls off, Dayton's tire wore through, and Bo's...well, Bo never complains, so his seemed just fine!

Roo was our official photographer and she is even getting really good at taking pictures of herself.

Dayton fishing. And, Dave was a little surprised when Bo poured water on his head while he was dozing.
This was our final event of the day. The $5.00 race across the cold, very rocky river. You'll have to watch to see who won. You'll also be relieved to know that Dayton did eventually save Mariah!

Jackson's Volleyball Tournament

We got to go to Salt Lake to see our nephew, Jackson, play in the National Junior Olympic Volleyball Championships. Teams came from all over the U.S. and Canada. We got to watch them play a team from Fresno, CA and a team from Orlando, FL. Jackson is one amazing setter. I now know a few new moves to teach to MY volleyball team! HA.

Mariah and Maddie.
Dallin and Janice watching with that "parent" devotion.

You Stink!

For those of you who don't know this, Cayden idolizes his big brother Dayton and would do anything for him. Thus, Dayton has a lot of power. Well, we saw how beneficial this power was the other day when Cayden wanted to go golfing with him. Out of the blue, Cayden came to me and said, "Mom, I need some more deodorant." I must have had a stunned look on my face because he went on to explain that Dayton said he could go golfing with him as long as he didn't stink. WOW! That's all it took for this kid to realize that deodorant can be beneficial. We've told him this a million times but for some reason, he didn't listen. When Dayton said it, it immediately had power. We are all so thankful. We laugh though, because Cayden has decided to store his deodorant in his basket that hangs on the fridge! Yesterday, Dayton called and told him to come golfing and he instantly got the deodorant out and put some on. I had to laugh...to myself!

Welcome to the Law's Basketball Court!

Today was a serious day of taping lines and painting stripes. Dave and Cado spent 9 hours getting these lines perfect. They even moved the whole 3 point line when they realized it was a 1/2 inch off!
Fortunately for us, the Whitings showed up just at the right time. Lezlee was quite helpful, but Dayton and Whitney soon discovered that painting each other was more entertaining than painting those lines!

Boy, the only way you could have neighbors this good would be to move into our house! Sorry, we're staying put!

Bo happy and willing to help...as always!

Cado is trying out the new lines!

Dave tried really hard to make sure that no one made any marks on the pavement that were not supposed to be there. Unfortunately some mysterious prints appeared. We checked everyone's feet and soon discovered the guilty one!
