Goodbye 2010

We celebrated the New Year with the Burdick's and the Woolstenhulme's. It started out with a prime rib supper. Ahh, I can see that someone at this table is putting ketchup on their prime rib. Isn't that against the law!! Amanda, Malorie, Mariah and Emily.
The boys' table. Bo, Cado, Jace and Dayton.
The "older adults" table.
Mariah had planned the greatest array of Minute to Win It games. It was a great success once again. Here is the face the cookie game where you try to get a cookie from your forehead to your mouth.
Dave W. tried to look relaxed but he really was working very hard. He didn't like being beat by the little kids.
Here's a group trying to get three penne pastas onto a spaghetti noodle.
Look at the concentration as these folks try to get a candycane into their cup.
Here everyone is trying to gather up two candycanes with a candycane hanging from a string.
This is the game that was leading to the finals. It brought blood and sweat. We were very careful NOT to get vaseline on Karen's white carpet and had taken all of the preventative measures for that. What we didn't realize was that Dayton was willing to give up his knees to win this game. When it was over, we all saw his knees and gasped. Heavens, I think that boy would have run over women and young children to win that game. He was ruthless.
Here are Dayton's raw knees.
Here is Karen cleaning off the bloodstains from her carpet!
The final event was the lick the lifesavers and stickem to your face game. Dayton and Cado were the finalists. Dayton claimed that he was the winner and took the prize box, although most of us think that he cheated and put two lifesavers back on his face! Oh well, he won and that's all that mattered to him! :)

Winter Fun

Because we have been blessed with so much snow in such a short time, the kids have discovered the thrill of snowboarding in the field. They have spend hours doing it and would spend hours more if it wasn't so cold!

Fresh Juice

Yum. Oranges were on a great clearance so we bought a lot. Mariah spent about half of the night squeezing us all fresh juice. It was to die for.

Man Wars

Every night I hear Cado screaming like a girl downstairs. That's when we know that the nightly "man wars" are taking place. Cado screams the loudest, but he always seems to be the one egging his brothers on!

Our house is going to be so quiet in a week...and Cado is going to be soooo lonely!

Freshman Basketball Has Begun

Union versus Manti. We had so much fun going to this game! We ran to Provo first and shopped for Bo's Homecoming. Then we went and watched 4 Union basketball games. Cado's team won. Then, we all went to a Mexican restaurant to eat. We stayed at Susan Talley's house that night and she makes company feel right at home. The next morning we drove to Salt Lake for Trevor's Homecoming. What great family time!

Mariah's Christmas Recital

We got home from Trevor Lemmon's homecoming in Salt Lake, just in time to hear a phone message that Mariah had a piano recital in 15 minutes. We rushed to Neola and made it just in time.
Mariah and Tess Larsen. They will someday be great friends if Whitney and I have our way!
We feel so lucky that Mariah gets to take lessons from Lorraine. No one can teach, love and pamper you like Lorraine can! Mariah will probably need to learn how to make Bo's famous cookies for her too.

Bo's Famous Cookies

Bo's friends have been keeping him busy these last few days. Blakeley came over the other night to "watch" him make cookies for her Grandma Lorraine. These just may be the last cookies Lorraine gets from Bo for a couple of years.
