Gotta Love Inversions and Frost

It seems like everyone is cutting and pasting Desiree's great picture of the frost we are having here in Roosevelt. I think it is because we are all too cold to go outside and take one ourselves. The other morning I woke up and our house was 57 degrees. The frost had covered our furnace exhaust and shut it down. We are ready for some sun! Where is that Bahama Cruise when I need it????

January 20, 2008

Hey Yall! Sorry I didnt get an email out yesterday... it was due to the fact that it was a holiday and the library was closed. So anyways Pres gave us permission to all do email today. Wow did we ever have an amazing week! HOLY CR....OW it was awesome! We taught so many lessons with members in our ward and the Lord just really blesses us with a ton of stuff to do last week! Evans confirmation was a success on Sunday. It was so awesome. I dont think I have ever felt the Spirit so much in my life. It was just amazing. Brother Reed confirmed him a member of the church and gave him a beautiful blessing. He told him that all of his health troubles would be taken care of according to his faithfulness and that his duty in this life would be to someday be a missionary and take the gospel to all the world. I think I almost passed out when I heard that. The Spirit was just so powerful, I am sure yall could feel it clear up in Utah!!! So anyways, we have done a couple of new member lessons with him and they have been a hit and he is just one solid guy. I am excited to start working with him more and more and maybe taking him out with us sometimes because he knows the bible like the back of his hand and he is just the man! So lets see... yesterday we played sand volleyball all day long for pday. There is something wrong with that picture, sand volleyball in the winter, that aint right! ha ha ha My feet and face got sunburned...whoops. It was so awesome though. We have a coupld part member families that we found last week that we are starting to work with now. One of them (Harrisons) has everyone baptised except for the husband. The whole family really wants him to join and he has come to church the past couple of weeks (even though at that time we did not know that he wasnt a member cause he comes in nice suits and all that good stuff) and so we are going to start working with him more and hopefully he will join soon enough. Some of our investigators are starting to progress slowly but surely. We have an appointment with Althea in about 30 minutes and hopefully we can commit her to some things finally. She works a ton and always on sunday so that might be a little difficult but I am hoping that she really feels the spirit and will be willing to make that change in her life. Other than that we are really trying to get our members to open their mouths more often about the church. Our ward is not very good at doing that, we hardly even get any referrals from them other than from Magda. We just need to get everyone on board and then the work will start flying! Anyways this is kinda short but I better jet off to our appointment so we are not late. I love yall and Yall are the best!!!! Love Elder Law

It's Moving Right Along

Well in our daily inspection of the apartment we were happily surprised to see that we now have stairs! They just magically appeared this morning. How cool is that? Anyway, things are moving very fast, except for Rock Man. He's pretty slow....probably more our speed. He's been working under that warm plastic tarp for 4 days now and we are very anxious to see the unveiling! Maybe we'll get done with the tile, trim and painting about the same time that he gets done with the rock!

Winter Ball: Girl's Choice

Winter Ball is tonight and Blakeley took Bo. Poor Blakeley got barked at by Riley and attacked by Captain as she tried to walk to our front door in her new lovely dress and high heels! At least she smiled once she got in!

We Need Some Meat On Those Skinny Bones

We took the Lewis' to the Vernal Rec Center for our last Hoorah! It was a great way to feel like it was summer again. We're looking at these kids though and thinking that we should have fed them more high fat foods!

Who Gets Breakfast In Bed?

It was 11:00 p.m. and Maria was ready for bed. Everyone else wanted to play spoons and we begged her to stay for just a little while. We had a huge circle of people and lots of spoons to match. The game was going well and then we decided to add an element of competition to it. The first 3 people out, had to help Dave cook breakfast and the winner of the game got breakfast in bed. This increased the intensity quite rapidly. (There were even a few tears shed!) As you can see Maria and I were the two finalists fighting for the last spoon. Everyone anxiously watched as we played the final round. I was saving 5's and NEVER got a single one once we began. Then, when the game ended I found out why! Maria was saving 5's too! We think alike! Anyway, she was the ultimate winner and she decided that she loves the game of SPOONS!

Aunt Dani would be so proud of us. She taught Mariah and me how to make some bracelets in Star Valley. We bought some bracelet supplies and taught Maria and Jessica and Tanner! I am even impressed with myself.

New Years Day Sledding

New Years Day was the perfect day for being pulled around by 4 wheelers. The Wallace's came and joined us.

We cooked hot dogs outside and everyone thought that was grand.

MMM, hot dogs and hot chocolate.

These kids got pulled for hours. We couldn't tell who was having more fun though: Stephen or the Kids! Some of the kids climbed down into the gulch to see the beaver pond and the foxes' den. It was a tough climb back up!

Cado's Sleepover

Who in their right mind would ever let their kid sleep at our house again under these circumstances. Look, they are in the wash room with the dogs! Poor Carson had to endure this, because he spent the night on New Years Eve. Since Cado still sleeps in there, he thought Carson wouldn't mind either! I havfe yet to find out what his mom thinks of us as parents!

Bo's New Moves

Clarissa and Jonathon were very good influences on Bo on New Years Eve. They actually got him to go to the dance and STAY! When they got home, Bo showed us his new moves that Clarissa had taught him.

Carrie's New Years Pics

Carrie has better pics from New Years. I am requesting that she put them here ! HA

The Twelve O'clock Celebration!

Everyone got to stay up until Midnight, well actually 2 a.m on New Years Eve. Here are all the kids watching the Dick Clark countdown. It was will chaos at midnight. If you watch the video below closely, you will notice that Tanner gets a good "New Years Bonk" from Nathan!

More Cute Pics

We believe that Mariah and Hannah were twins in heaven! Everyone says they look just like sisters. Come to think of it, Emmy and Mariah look like sisters too.

All the little kids are starting to really love Mariah. She is at that perfect babysitting age.

Must Love Dogs!

If you truly belong to the Call family you must have a dog. The bigger the better. We got 3 out of 4 in the picture. Grandpa's german shephard was NOT humored that all these other dogs had invaded her territory and she wanted nothing to do with being in the picture.

The Great Snowman Contest

The snow was so perfect in Star Valley that we decided to have a snowman contest. (I'm starting to think that everything we do has to be a contest! We are a very competitive family it seems!) Anyway, the kids went to town on it and the 3 final snowmen were judged by an unbiased judge. The rabbit snowman won and Townsen, Ben and Dallin are the winners. They get the snowman trophy for this year, but it is up for grabs next year. Watch out!

Family Game Night in Star Valley

Grandma Law always does family game night when we gather in Orangeville, so we decided to introduce the Call family to it. Family game night is when you play 6 10 minute games and keep score (again, it's a competition!). It was so great to watch that competitive spirit come out again. Uncle Garry was a maniac at Snap Jack, Grandpa Call was great at Guesstures and it was absolutely WILD at the spoons table!

Enjoying the Snow

Dave actually got the 4 wheeler to work and the kids thought it was great to get pulled around. Captain came out once but basically hid in the garage because he has trauma from being run over in Star Valley when he was riding with the kids on a sled! Zoe came over and had fun with Mariah.
