Accreditation Update

For the past few years I have been working on preparing the preschool at USU for NAEYC accreditation.  It has been pure torture and I have pretty much hated every single minute of it.  I've sworn a lot and I've cried a lot as I've filled out hundreds of files to meet the national standards.  Nevertheless, the day finally came this week where I finally had the accreditation visit.  A woman from California flew in and spent the day with us.  She observed our teaching, our classroom and went through those hundreds of files!  At noon, she talked with me and told me that she was going to be done 2 1/2 hours earlier than she had anticipated.  She told me that she does over 200 accreditation visits per year, and that my files were the BEST ones she had ever seen!  Thus, she was getting through them so much faster.  Then, when we had our exit meeting, where she has to go over the things that I am missing, or doing wrong, or of concern, through her observations, she had NOTHING..NADA...NOT A THING on any of those documents!  She said that NEVER happens either.  So, needless to say, I think it went pretty well and I BETTER PASS and NOT HAVE TO LOOK AT ANOTHER FILE FOR A VERY LONG TIME!

Puppy Love

We could not love our puppies any more than we do and we are pretty sure that the feeling is mutual!

Grandma Law's Quick Visit to See Mariah Clog!

Grandma Law was very sweet to drive to Roosevelt so that she could sit in the rain and watch Mariah's end of the year recital.  Dave and I didn't even get to go because we had teaching and church meetings to attend so Grandma saved the day!

Mom Finally Got Her Headstone

Mom's headstone has taken forever to get done!  It was finally set the day before Mother's Day.  We went up right before church to see it and to bring her some flowers.  The one thing we forgot was the chocolate!

We gave mom a "thumbs up" cause it looks good.  Mom is famous for the "thumbs up!" and we know she was smiling.

What We Do Inbetween Basketball Games

Cado has had three tournaments in the last three weeks.  This is what we do when they have a two hour break.  We find any D.I. available and we eat!  Emily and Mariah found the perfect shirt for Dave at the Provo D.I.

USU Graduation 2013

Here are the FCHD 1500 graduates for 2013.  We love these students and how hard they work.  Dave is really going to miss Rachel as she heads to Ohio State to pursue her doctorate degree.  She was heavily recruited and that says a lot about the quality of student that she is and the quality of education one can get out here in little old Roosevelt!

Dave's 50th Celebration

Dave turned 50 and I'm sure he will remember this day with great awe!  He basically spent from morning to late, late night doing work and church stuff and wasn't around at all.  When he got home late that night he was welcomed with a very special marshmallow man from Mariah!
