Sunday Dinner

Dayton and Brooke cooked us Sunday dinner.  We had roast, potatoes, carrots, fresh rolls and salad.  It was delicious.  I had to take this picture of the card table added to their two person table in their tiny little kitchen.  I told them that someday they will be happy to show their children what a tiny apartment they lived in but how they could still feed a crowd!

Pumpkin Carving

When we went to Dayton and Brooke's house we noticed that they didn't look very festive!  Not a single Halloween decoration to be found.  So we carved pumpkins for them and now their house looks great.  Those trick or treaters will finally feel welcome.
Dayton and Brooke were pretty competitive and Brooke had high hopes of beating Dayton this year.
Mariah took forever doing hers and her quiet patience just may have paid off.  Me, my hand was killing after a little while and I jsut wanted to be done!
Here are our pumpkins.  We are asking Bo to judge them.  He can tell us which one he thinks should get first, second, third and so on.  Then, next time we will let him know the winners he chose.  Bo, this is a big responsibility!!!  We can't wait to hear from you.

Gathering Leaves in Logan

We got to spend the weekend in Logan this week because Shirlene had a presentation to give on Saturday.  We took everyone so that Dayton and Brooke would not be bored all weekend.  We had a family service project at Grandma's Logan house.  We found plenty of leaves and grass to clean up.
Dayton found that the lawnmower could blow them into quicker piles...so he drove and we raked.  This is the way most projects work when Dayton is involved.
The little trailer was handy for leaves and for Cado.

Now the orchard looks lovely and Joyce should be happy!  ha ha

Our Conference Project

Mariah and I finally finished our General Conference project.  We have been working since August on a quilt for Brooke's birthday.  We've had most of the squares cut for a while, but we took this opportunity to watch conference and sew and sew and cut and cut!  Whew, we are glad to have it finished because Brooke's birthday is coming soon!  After we finished, Mariah said that "quilting was not her passion!"

New Car!

We got a new Honda CRV yesterday.  We were lucky enough to text Uncle Jim the very day that he found out that his in-laws were trading theirs in the next day.  It's a 2012 and has 7000 miles on it.  I don't think that I would be trading in a car with only 7000 miles, but they wanted to be one of the firsts to get the 2013 CRV.  I was happy to let them take that 6000 hit and buy this car for trade in price.  I think we are going to love that AWD in the winter :)
