First Soccer Game: Union versus Payson

Good start to the soccer season.  Union played Payson and won 3 to 2 this year!  YAY!  And, Betsy (Cado's most devoted fan) and mom of Chris who plays for Payson, came out too!

Turning 47!

Today I got to celebrate another year!  Carrie took me to Salt Lake for the day and we got to see the Dead Sea Scrolls exhibit.  We ate at the Blue Lemon at City Creek and then made a Costco run.

When I got home, Dave and Mariah were just coming in with a Maurices sack.  Dave no longer has to ask the "Maurices Girls" to choose me clothes.  Now he just takes Mariah and she tries them on and chooses them.  It's a win, win for both of us.  They fit and "she" likes them too!

Cado's Perfect Valentine Card

My Valentine card from Cado this year!

This pretty much says it all!

Super Bowl Partayyy!

Well it was a small gathering at our house for the Super Bowl this year.  In fact, it was just us...but we went over the top with our Super Bowl food.  Caches cooked up his fresh caught trout.  Cado made some mighty fine chicken wings.  Shirlene made the seven layer dip and we baked up a couple pizzas to boot.

So, we felt quite happy that we had the top three Super Bowl foods (chicken wings, pizza and chips) and a little more...to make watching a boring game, more enjoyable!

Formal Cruise Pictures

This is the second time in our ENTIRE lives that we have had family pictures.  The last time was 40 years ago.  I guess it's well worth the cruise to get that task done.  Most people thought it was pretty neat that dad had all six of his kids with him on a cruise!  It was.  Maybe we are a cool family after all!

We made it a week together.  We only had one day of "struggle" but we got over it.  I'm pretty sure mom was looking down on us...or rather with us the entire seven days.  And, I'm sure she is happy!

Friday, Boat Day

Friday was our last day on the ship.  It was stormy outside so it was the perfect day to sleep, look out our window (which we loved) and go to the sauna.

We also took pictures of some of our favorite signs around the ship.

This was a sign you don't often see.  It was in Jamaica.
And, I loved this sign.  We will not starve.

They did have the most amazing chocolate bar.  It was true blue really quality chocolate.  We ate our chocolate...and didn't even need lunch.
One thing I did find out on this trip was that my brothers are just as addicted to chocolate as I am.  I had brought a nice supply of chocolate chips and chocolate almonds and butterfingers and riesens.  They were all very appreciative of my thoughtfulness and I came home with NO chocolate at all.

Thursday, Jamaica

Five of the seven of us had a great day in Jamaica.  You can personally call and ask Dad and Jim how their day was, but the rest of us had a grand, safe and adventurous time!
We chose to do the Dunns River Fall excursion.  You basically climb up a 900 foot waterfall.  It was totally rainy that day but it didn't really matter.   We were going to get drenched anyway.  We couldn't take pictures during the climb because....we were climbing.  So these are our "Happy We Made It" shots.  I have a new best buddy named Tyler though.  His wife was pregnant and couldn't do the climb so he helped me all the way through.

After our climb, we got to go the Dolphin Cove.  We got to see dolphin trainers at work.
We got to go on a cute jungle hike.
We even found the tarzan ropes.
They had several cute places you could stop and take pictures.  The iguana was one of them.
The snake was NOT available today because it had just eaten and needed 2 days to digest.  I asked what they fed it and they said, baby chicks.
We went around the corner and saw..the next set of baby chicks!
The love bird pen was just filled with those cute birds.  They landed anywhere and everywhere.

Another bird photo op!  The workers were just so cute.  They would set all the birds up and then take as many pictures as you wanted with as many cameras as you had.  Then, they didn't even ask for tips.

DeeAnne getting her water shoes for the hike.
 Dale watching the dolphin training.
Shirlene and Dale seeing the SNAKE sign and not wanting to go any further!
Petting the starfish.  These guys had never touched ones that were alive.

They had a shark show.  It was pretty legit.  At least this pirate was almost "too" real!  He was on the spooky side.
Here are the shark show boys.  We are pretty sure they had been drinking the Jamaican Rum before they did the show.  They were pretty animated, but we were very entertained.
A man was making cute hats out of palm leaves.
Here's shark boy with his shark.  Good news....he didn't get eaten!
We even had time to do a little shopping.
Shirlene and Brian with their Jamaican bags.  Go Bob Marley.
That night we had another formal supper.  The special of the night was escargot.  We all ate it just to gross Jim out.

Here is our waiter dancing on the table.  By now we had grown to really like our nightly dinner entertainment.
