This Time of Year is Basically ALL ABOUT BO!

They Say He's Hilarious!

t

Bo got honored with the Senior Award of "Best Sense of Humor." Little did we know (well we kind of did) that this kid was such a comedian. The girls love him and so do the teachers. Aaron Reary, his cabinetry teacher, told me yesterday that "no student has ever made him laugh as much as Bo has." He's really going to miss that boy!

UBATC Graduation

Bo graduated twice last night from the Uintah Basin Applied Technology College. He received his cabinetry certification as well as his pharmacy tech certification. Way to go Bo!

Senior Awards Night

Bo's Senior Awards Night was held this week. It was so much fun to see all of these great kids accomplishments. As I looked around at that kids who were there, I realized that they were the kids that Bo most often hangs out with. When we got finished I told Bo that I thought he had done an excellent job of choosing great friends. They are really good kids!

The Rube Goldberg

We only have one more of these buggers to make. Thank goodness! There is nothing in Cayden's gene pool that gives him any shot at being a great engineer. (I really think that the science teachers, of all people, should understand this!) Anyway, Cado and Dave spent countless hours trying to make this thing crush a pop can. We are getting a little smarter though because this year, we saved this Rube Goldberg and put it up in the shed so that we can just pull it down when it is Mariah's turn.

Another Preschool Graduation!

It was the end to another great year of preschool. Just when the kids get so good, I have to send them off. I would really like to just recycle. I guess I kind of get to because this last picture shows me registering "unborn" children for the years to come. I guess that that is kind of like "recycling."

Roo's Rocket Class

Roo and I decided that we would make pop bottle rockets with her class instead of tie dying this year. (Pure genius on my end!) It was so much simpler and cleaner and the kids had a blast! Mariah is really going to miss fourth grade. Miss Mieure has been one of her all time favorite teachers. Thanks Savannah!

Shandie's No Fat, Low Fat Caramel Popcorn

(Just kidding, but it's really good so it's worth all the calories you'll have to burn later!)

1 cup butter (2 cubes)
1 can sweetened condensed milk
2 1/4 cups brown sugar
1 cup corn syrup

Melt butter over medium heat on stove top. Add all other ingredients when butter is melted completely. Stir constantly until all sugar is dissolved. When mixture begins to boil rapidly (not just around the edges, but completely through mixture) stir and cook 30 more seconds and then remove from heat. Do NOT over cook. The caramel will not be soft if you cook too long.

Pour over 3 (can do 4 but I like mine to be heavily coated) bags of "butter" flavor popcorn. (not movie theater butter, or extra butter, just plain "butter" flavored.

Stir until all pieces are coated evenly. Enjoy! Wait to cool down before eating!

Shaylie is Home

Shaylie got home from her mission on Friday. It was so fun to go and see how wonderful she looks and to hear how awesome her mission was. It was truly a life changing experience for her. Congrats Shaylie!

Bo's Entertainment Center is HOME!

Who needs to put a big t.v. in Bo's entertainment center when we can just put Bo! Ah, it looks so great downstairs. I really can't wait to get the t.v. in there. Move over Bo.

Our Junior All American Champ

Mariah had her final competition at Lagoon last weekend. It is the largest dance competition in the United States. She did great. In fact, she did so well that she earned the highest award possible for her division. She is a Junior All American. Since we really don't know what that means, we had to ask her teacher and Amanda said again and again...that this was REALLY REALLY good! Cool.

Awesome Mother's Day

Mother's Day was absolutely great at this house. It started out with a made to order breakfast in bed from Mariah. One egg over easy and toast (lightly toasted) with strawberry jam and juice.

Then the Maurice's fairy made a successful trip to my house and blessed me with two stunning outfits!

A long nap followed and then a phone call to our most wonderful missionary son filled the afternoon.

In the early evening the house was filled with the fresh aroma of oatmeal chocolate chip cookies made by Cayden and Bo.

And finally, in the evening I was treated to an amazing simmering pot of fresh chicken and dumplings.

I think that I will go ahead and keep my job as being a mom!

Ah, It's Great to Be Able to Steal Pictures!

Thanks Carrie! This makes it almost feel like I was there! Even though I am actually glad that I didn't have to drive 14 hours! :)

Bo said that he had suggested that they take this picture in front of the scoreboard. However, no one really wanted to remember the 1-8 that was still flashing up there! We'll just pretend that it was a closely fought game.

Nightly Hairdos

Mariah is going crazy about creating hairdos. So every single night I get to sit for at least an hour while we watch Wife Swap, and she creates new fashion do's on me. I love it! She thought this lastest style was pretty awesome, so we took pictures!

What a Sweet "Thank You"

Blakeley came to our house Sunday afternoon and brought Bo the warmest, most cozy blanket you can imagine. It was her "thanks" to him for being such a great friend and for taking her to two dances :)
