A Fun Weekend

It was great having Grandma, Abbie and Dayton, Brooke and Bo come home.  Grandma even go some more lessons on how to use her ipad and it was pretty funny listening to the kids laugh as they looked through our family pictures!

Union vs. Juan Diego

Union played Wasatch and Juan Diego this week.  They had their first loss to Wasatch!  That wasn't very fun.  Fortunately they redeemed themselves on Friday by beating Juan Diego by 20 points on Friday.

A Big Job for Dave

Dave just got called to be the new bishop in our ward.  Grandma and Abbie came and Dayton, Brooke and Bo surprised him for this special day as well.  I'm thinking we will all be together again in about five years!

A Lot of Math Homework is Going On

Bo has been home the last two weekends and he has spent a lot of time doing math homework.  It was quite cute watching Cado join him at the dining table.
This past weekend Dayton was here as well and all three of them were at the table for hours.   I think they like showing off the fact that Cado thinks Bo's math is easy, while Dayton thinks Cado's is!

Such a Sad Sight

These are the faces that we get to look at on a daily basis as Captain and K.O. have been staying in the house during this cold weather.  They have learned that they have to stay in the back room, but they still look for any signs that they may be invited into the rest of the house!

Cado's Sonnet

Cado had to do a last minute sonnet for his English class.  He started out writing a really cheesy one about his dogs and it wasn't going anywhere good!  Then, he recruited my help and I told him he should write about his van.  Oh, the inspiration came quickly and we created a sonnet that we were quite proud of.  ha ha

Bob Marley Mobile

It was new and shiny twelve years ago.
I was so excited to hop right in.
Buckled up in my car seat right next to Bo.
With my movie player and a big grin.

That van took me places near and far.
To Disneyland thrice and school each day.
I thought it was great, better than a car.
It was great back then, but sadly to say.

It sat in my driveway year after year.
Got rusty and dented and looked like heck.
At sixteen my parents said, "Cado dear."
"Now that you're driving; we'll give you this wreck!"

I put on some stickers to make it cool.
And now I'm driving Bob Marley to school!

New Year Eve's Bash

The annual Christmas Party was held on New Years Eve due to the fact that we went to Star Valley for Christmas.  The die hard friends and families came to eat, play games and greet the new year.
Everyone was a part of the foosball, ping pong and dance off competition.  It was single elimination so for some people it was a short game night and for others it was long.  Lezlee tried to use all sorts of tactics to win at any game she was playing.

We did not know that so many of us could beat the younger generation at those dance moves!
 And at foosball!
 Hum, and at ping pong!
The competition got really competitive when it was two of the same generation competing!

Dave even pushed me down at one point!

Needless to say, it was very entertaining and a high calorie filled night.  We made it to midnight, had our sparkly and then got to sleep in the next morning.  Ah, what a great way to welcome 2013!

Family Pictures

We were ready for new family pictures.  It's been four years and there have been a lot of changes.  Fortunately the photographers pictures look much better than ours do....but it was freezing taking them outside.

Our Belated Christmas

Sunday night Santa made it to our house.  Better late than never we say.  Everyone had to wait on the stairs as usual in great anticipation.
The stocking opening took place upstairs in the usual spots.
There was even a little extra money in each stocking to go into the family cruise fund!

We moved downstairs for the present opening.

Some of the things we got were not real surprises!  But at least they fit.

Other things really were BIG surprises.
And some things were just pretty darn cool like this hoodie that Dayton and Brooke gave Bo.  It has headphones on the strings and a plug in in the pocket.  Now that is cool.
Dayton and Brooke are now set to be real campers.
Cado is watching with anticipation as I open the gift he gave me!
Mariah was very excited at this sight.
And Cado got the one thing he had asked for...magnetic silly putty.  Now that guy is making some big money on this scheme.  The silly putty simply has a magnet in it.  Why didn't I think of that!
We saved the best present for last.  Anyone who watches Duck Dynasty as reliously as Cado does will understand.  (i.e. Carrie Wallace)
