The Family Plan

This week's morning Sunday Special was "The Family Plan." Mariah cooked eggs, pancakes, juice, fresh cut fruit with all the fixins' for a family of four for $3.00...plus a tip!

Toast, Toast, and Tie!

Union freshmen got to go to Craig, Colorado on Saturday and play three games against Steamboat, Battle Mountain and Grand Junction. The boys did great. They toasted the first two teams and gained some mighty fine "Colorado Respect." In their final game against Grand Junction, (a school twice our size) they gained even more! They ended in a tie and lost by one point in sudden death overtime! Good job boys.
Here is Cado getting slammed! I really think that should have been a foul :)

The boys on the bench looking pretty darn cute.

...a little more intense right here!
Cado made this awesome three point swish and that silly ref called him for traveling! That crazy ref called EVERYONE for traveling!

Roo's Room Service and Stuff

Mariah is back in business with "Roo's Room Service and Stuff." It's quite an ingenious business plan for sure. Each Sunday she offers a breakfast special. You can order it the night before and choose what time you want it. You will notice that she even has a family meal plan. Today Dave ordered the special and was not disappointed.

All cash earned goes directly into the cash register and there are Sunday evening games for opportunities to earn "free meal stuff!"
She's smart enough to ask for tips as well.
This is the snack menu that you can order if RRSS is open.
He Mariah cooks Dave's special breakfast.
She even offers four toppings for the pancakes: peanut butter, nutella, syrup and fresh raspberry jam.
Just as ordered and delivered in bed. Perfect. She earned a $1.00 tip for this one.

Cado's Happy Chart

We are now "bribing" Cado to be happy! Earning dogfood is the reward!

Union vs. ALA

Blue Boy is Back

This is the picture that was on the sports page of the Herald Journal! Dayton said he was in the USU Statesman as well. Truly famous.

Just saw some more letters! These are Dayton's buddies....make that BLUE buddies.

Dayton texted me and told me that he was on ESPN...right now! Thank goodness that we really do have t.v. this time so that we can watch it. Luckily, we caught sight of him, froze the t.v. and took a pic. Thanks DVR. Blue Boy is back!!!

Checking Out!

Tonight at dinner we were discussing what time Dave would need to check out Mariah from school tomorrow so that we can make it to Cado's basketball game in Heber. When we finally realized that we wouldn't need to check her out ,because going after school would still work out, she looked a little relieved.

We asked her what she was thinking, she said that her teacher told her on Friday that she was the "check out queen!" Ooops, I guess that is the hazard of being the youngest, but I'm not sure that Mariah likes that name!

Got Plasma?

Dayton just texted and asked me to send him his social security card. When I asked, "Why?" he said that it was so that he could go and give plasma once a week and earn $50 bucks! I think that kid will do anything to earn money and those plasma banks know that a college campus is a prime place to set up shop!

Going to the MTC

We never think that missionary Wednesday is very fun. It's a lot of anticipation and anxiety getting ready to leave each other for two years.
Since the MTC drop off procedure has changed, we did what everyone else does now...we went and took pictures in front of the Provo Temple before we dropped Bo off. It was basically a heatwave in Provo. Twenty seven degrees! That totally beats the negative degrees that we are having in the Basin.

We ran a few errands before Bo left. Bo needed a bike lock and while he was there he found the perfect mission bike. He figured that he would look awesome on this and that the basket would be quite handy!
Bo chose the Olive Garden for his lunchtime meal. The waiters at Olive Garden referred to this day as Missionary Wednesday. There were four other families there with one very nervous missionary amongst each one. Bo only ate two bites of soup and 1 1/2 breadsticks. Nervous? I think so.

We got the number 25 drop off zone. That means that we got to drive clear to the very end of the row. It was great because that meant more time with Bo. We knew the drop off would be fast, but were pleasantly surprised that we at least got to get out, give hugs and give hugs again.

When we got back in the car Cado made a funny observation. He had noticed that the car behind us had taken about 30 seconds to drop off their missionary. He said, "That must have been the seventh missionary for that family because they only took 30 seconds to drop him off. They didn't even get out of the car!" We laughed! Good thing that we don't have that many kids. That means that we will never get tired of giving them those extra tight hugs!

See you in two years Bo! You are going to do great.

Leaving Home

All packed up and ready to go and Bo's immunization paper is in HAND as directed.
Bo and Riley. We're not sure that our 15 year old dog is going to make it another two years. We're pretty sure that Bo and Dave are Riley's favorite humans. Bo takes extra good care of this dog. Riley's going to miss being fed Life cereal on a regular basis.

Bo's Last Supper

The Whitings were kind enough to invite us over Tuesday night for Bo's Last Supper. This is now an official tradition because we did the same thing for Dayton before he left. We had the traditional fondue supper and Blaine made some great rolls and his famous Sopapilla dessert. It wasn't until after supper that Lezlee showed me why she hadn't eaten anything at the table. Her mouth was filled with stitches! She deserves Sainthood!

The New Years Elf

We improvised this year with the Christmas stocking filling. Since the kids didn't get anything in their Christmas stockings at Christmas, I told them that maybe the New Years Elf would come if they were really good. They put out their stockings on New Years Eve with good faith. Fortunately, the New Years Elf came just as promised. The kids showed the same excitement as they have for every other Christmas event.
Look at the joy on their faces as they see their filled stockings and the new cologne that the elf brought. I think we just might have to keep the New Years Elf around!

It's been a great 2010. We're looking forward to 2011!
