Orangeville Days

The tradition of Orangeville races and Survivor continued throughout Saturdays festivities.  Me, Alli, Dayton and Shaylie were recruited to pass out the money to the foot race winners.  We discovered that identifying second and third place winners was harder than it looked.  We also witnessed on man tear a hamstring.  He did not look happy and he really didn't care if he earned one of these fancy two dollar bills.

There were some great games for the Survivor competition.  Mariah's team rocked during those.
 They beat the stacking competition.
They didn't do so hot in the "move the marbles with your toes" task.
When it came to the food, they did pretty well...until they got to that last...black egg.  That one was more than they could handle and they ended up losing to the old folks.  Good thing those old folks were "Law's" too and we all got to share the 6 pizzas!

Dana ready to eat a jar of beef babyfood.  She won by the way.
In the afternoon there was horseback riding.  Dayton and Hunter just got on for a photo opportunity.  No riding for them.
 There was some intense basketball.
And, there was lots and lots of Hunter time.
We're pretty sure he thinks his grandparents are AWESOME!
Late that night, Dayton defrosted a loaf of Grandma's bread and had a little midnight TOAST!

Granny Confusion

Poor Hunter was a little taken back when he saw me and Janice show up.  We were basically dressed alike and we probably kind of looked alike to him.  Then we both stretched out our arms and encouraged him to come!  He paused for a moment and looked very carefully and then he came directly to....ME!

Pig Chases

Only three 14 year old girls went out for the pig chase in their age group.  Fortunately they were all cousins so one of them was bound to win the 20 dollars.
This time it was Mariah's lucky day.  Abbie and Maddie cornered that pink pig and Mariah grabbed a leg.  Not a bad way to earn 20 dollars!

Afternoon At the Lake

Friday afternoon we went to the Mill Site.  The cousins had not been there before.  It ended up being a great place to play Frisbee Football in the cool water.

When Steve and Dana arrived, they were greeted with the wettest hugs possible!

Taking Pictures of People Taking Pictures

I thought this shot was much more entertaining than the shot of Leslie's baby and Christopher's baby on the couch.  It was quite hilarious to watch all of the adults in the house scramble to make those babies smile as Grandma Law was recreating a shot that was just like one she had taken when Leslie and Christopher were babies!

Grandma's Keepsakes

Grandma law wanted to let her grandchildren choose some of her keepsakes.  She had them all spread out with an explanation of why each item was special and then the granddaughters got to take turns choosing keepsakes.
It was a great way to make they items they received more meaningful and special.

The grandsons got to do the same thing with some of their grandpa's and great grandpa's keepsakes.  Here Evan, Tyler and Jared are choosing.

Here is everyone eating because all of that "choosing" makes you really hungry.  No, just being together makes you think of food...all the time.  This group can really consume a LOT!

Law Family Reunion 2014

On day 1 of the reunion we went up to the mountains.  We had not been there for a very long time.  We got to hang out for an evening at one of our old camping spots.  Christopher's son, Henry, got a chance to get to know Sophie, one of Cado's pups from last year that Doug and Sandra now own.
 Dad and Grandma Law.
An impromptu volleyball game.  It's a great thing that they had a string to make it all possible.
Dave and I were in charge of supper and so we made 40  tinfoil dinners that were totally awesome.  We used cabbage on the outsides of them and added onion soup mix and worchestershire sauce to the hamburger.  Then we put in the meat with some cheese inside of it.  We surrounded it with onions, carrots and potatoes and then put a dab of mushroom soup on top.  We folded them up and added some water between the two layers of foil.  Those dinners turned out way awesome and not a one burned!

Shandie's daughter, Brynlee was being babysat for the weekend by Adree.  She loved posing for pictures even when she was as dirty as possible.  She seemed most happy at that moment!
