Cado's Seminary Graduation

Mariah's Clogging

Mariah's clogging year has been kind of different this year, but last night we got to watch 2 hours of performances to see her perform for 2 minutes!  Next year we hope to get her involved in more so that we can see MORE>

First Look At Bo's Leg

His leg kind of looks like Frankenstein and his foot kind of looked dead but beyond that, the doctor said things are really healing well.  Unfortunately, that doesn't mean that Bo will get to walk any sooner.  It sounds like Chicago is out and more "gimping" around is in store for the next six weeks.  After that, walking will be a slow process and Bo will have a year to get back to speed and "hopefully" much longer than that to get on a longboard!

End of Soccer Season

Mariah's Rue Goldberg

Mariah had a successful toast making presentation at school.  She only had one mishap and Cado had to help her set it back up, but beyond that...all went smoothly and the toast got cooked!

Pizza Crust

Pizza Crust

Ingredients

3 1/2 to 4 cups bread flour, plus more for rolling (Chef's Note: Using bread flour will give you a much crisper crust. If you can't find bread flour, you can substitute it with all-purpose flour which will give you a chewier crust.)
1 teaspoon sugar
1 envelope instant dry yeast
2 teaspoons kosher salt
1 1/2 cups water, 110 degrees F
2 tablespoons olive oil, plus 2 teaspoons

Directions

Combine the bread flour, sugar, yeast and kosher salt in the bowl of a stand mixer and combine. While the mixer is running, add the water and 2 tablespoons of the oil and beat until the dough forms into a ball. If the dough is sticky, add additional flour, 1 tablespoon at a time, until the dough comes together in a solid ball. If the dough is too dry, add additional water, 1 tablespoon at a time. Scrape the dough onto a lightly floured surface and gently knead into a smooth, firm ball.

Grease a large bowl with the remaining 2 teaspoons olive oil, add the dough, cover the bowl with plastic wrap and put it in a warm area to let it double in size, about 1 hour. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and divide it into 2 equal pieces. Cover each with a clean kitchen towel or plastic wrap and let them rest for 10 minutes.

In the Green Room

Cado got to make his first television debut for his Strata Scholarship.  I'm not sure that he is convinced he loved doing it, but for $10,000.00 he was willing!

Wisdom Teeth are Out

Cado got his wisdom teeth out last week.  We did a little recording of him after the event and he was pretty funny.  He really loved the blanket and wanted to keep it and he was so intrigued with the duck picture and how those ducks kept moving and moving.
Townsen and Katie's marriage in the Brigham City Temple.
Two brothers...posing and constantly showing off.
A great moment to get to spend with grandma Call's only living sibling, Uncle Darrell Floyd, and his wife, Karen Floyd.  It means a lot to have them come.
The family pictures for Townsen and Katie.  This is when the photographer was looking for guys without a significant other.  She went straight to Cado and Cache!  Way to rub it in Cache replied!

Just look at the following pictures.  You can easily tell who is listening to the instructions and who is NOT!

The Next Two Call Missionaries

Cado and Carbo are bestest of cousins.  They will both be having their missionary farewells on May 25th and then they will get to meet each other at the Provo MTC on June 11!  I think that they both find comfort in knowing that they will both be there together.

Hunter Time

We got to spend some time with Hunter while we went to Townsen's wedding.  He has a little stranger anxiety at first but he finally warmed up.  Once he did he found that my mouth was simply intriguing and would try to grab my tongue and teeth.  When he wasn't doing that, he would just hang his fingers on my bottom teeth and carry on with whatever else was going on.

Dayton's Generous Gift

Dayton gave Cado five of his most treasured mission ties.  (Brooke was more than happy about that.)  Then he spent the rest of the time trying to teach Cado how to tie a full windsor.  I'm not sure that Cado learned the skill yet, but after two years I'm sure he will be a pro.

Hunter Has Been Converted

Hunter has been introduced to the "Law blanket swing" and it a true convert.  We used to always swing out kids in blankets and they always loved it.  We reminded Dayton about this and he and Brooke have been doing it with Hunter for a while now.  Dayton said Hunter knows exactly what to expect when he sees this white blanket.  Dayton brought it out and Hunter just started to wiggle with excitement.  That kid would stay in there for a very long time if he could!

Lunch With Cado's Biggest Fan

Our life is crazy right now and it feels like we are driving to Provo and Logan way too much.  Friday we had to drive back to Provo to get Cado's typhoid medication for his mission and to have his wisdom teeth checked.  Betsy just happened to text me while we were traveling and I told her what we were doing.  She was getting off of work early, so she came to eat with us.  As Dave and Cado and I were walking in the door, I said, "we don't have many more times when it will be just us going out to eat" in my melancholy voice.  At that point Cado quickly interjected, "and Betsy!"  We all had to laugh, because Betsy pretty much has been one of Cado's biggest fans.  She's made it to more of his events than any other person!!!

Bo's After Surgery Life

Bo broke his leg long boarding the last week of school at USU.  His buddies were kind enough to take him to the doctor and drop him off for every final.  He had surgery in Logan on Monday after finals were over and Dave drove up and brought the poor boy home.  He is now adjusting to life as a one-legged man and finding that their is not a lot that he can do very well.  His job in Chicago is now on hold and he has six to eight weeks of sitting, scooting and laying around.  It's going to be a long...boring....recovery.

We did find that he can match socks!

Old School Atari Party

There was a lot of yelling and screaming go on at our house on Wednesday night.  It was the soccer team's Old School Atari and Nintendo 64 party.  Coach Payne had most of the gear and Cado provided lots of coaches and then they all pitched in and brought t.v.s, sodas and chips. It was a 100% "Man" party and the noise level grew as the night progressed.  They finally came up the stairs at 11:00 p.m. and Cado said they were totally shocked at how late it was.  Must have meant they were having fun!

It's Almost Done

Tomorrow is the deadline for the rue goldberg machines for Mariah's school. She and Cado have been very busy making that toaster work.  They got it to work once.  We will pray that is works one more time for the big reveal at school.  Thanks Cado.  Dad is very relieved that you have taken over this task.
