Carter is the Cutest Boy

Carter is just the cutest little boy.  He has a lot of food allergies but loves to eat.  He has decided that he loves Grandma Shirlene's canned chicken so that's awesome.  He has also decided that he loves to wear his daddy's gloves.  This second picture reminds me so much of Cado when he insisted on wearing Dave's work gloves and hat.

Mariah's Date to Prom

Mariah came home to a "lit up room" and invitation to prom.  She was first relieved that her friend, Madi, had come and stuffed everything into her closet so her room appeared clean.  Then she was most relieved to find out that she really hadn't been asked by Luke Price but rather by Tyler Swain...thus the smile.

Baby Chicks

This year we bought a new incubator for the preschool to attempt chick hatching again.  We had failed miserably the last two times.  Well, the third time was a charm and we now have 10 new chicks.  We have everything from small fluffy ones to a turken.  We don't really want of need 10 more chickens, but for now they are happily living in our house.

Shirlene's 50th Surprise

Well Dave almost pulled off the surprise of the half century on this birthday.  My only clue that something was up was when I saw some balloons peeking over the preschool fence.  Dave went to a lot of effort to plan a parade to celebrate.  He has friends and preschoolers, USU buddy sign holders, USU snow plow drivers and even the town cop.  He blindfolded me and guided me to the truck and then set me on top.  I had taffy to throw out to my cheering party goers.  At the end of the parking lot was a table filled with cupcakes and ice cream.  What a way to celebrate 50 years.

Dayton and Cado's New Office

Mariah and I had another orthodontist appointment and so we got to go see Dayton's new office.  As you can see it is rather barren and I think Dayton is very happy to have Cado there as his intern.  It sounds like this office will soon be filled with 8 employees and there may not even be room for these big bouncy balls.

Dave and Shirlene's Spring Break

Dave and I wanted to do something for spring break so we decided to go to Cedar City.  It was beautiful.  We went to Bryce Canyon for one of the days and hiked around the loop.  We hadn't realized that it would still be snowy and quite muddy, but it was still great.  We got to see two movies and run on their great trails around the city as well.  It was a perfect weekend.

Bo's Spring Break

Bo ran to his old mission stomping grounds for spring break and visited his favorite families there.  On the way home he stopped at this sand desert and this was the only picture I got of his whole trip.  I did see a post of him eating a cricket with the Gonzales family though.  I was surprised that "picky eater" Bo would even attempt something like that.

Mariah's California Tennis Trip

Mariah spent spring break going with Dann Battistone on the annual California tennis trip.  Dann is an amazing person who was willing to rent a van in Las Vegas drive it to Roosevelt, pick up 15  kids, stuff them in the van and then drive them back to California.  The only thing he kind of forgot to plan was where to put all the luggage.  This van had no storage room and each kid has 2 to 3 bags.  It was truly a miracle that they were able to stuff all the kids and all the luggage in successfully.  Closing the door was a monumental moment of success.

Early Childhood Conference

I got to attend the UAEYC Early Childhood Conference and bring along some teachers and students.  We had a great time together.  I love these opportunities.

Lots of Boa Constrictor Problems

In preschool we sing a boa constrictor song.  As we sing it we pull the boa constrictor up to cover the child.  I started singing it with Hunter and Carter and they loved it so I made them their very own boa constrictor to take home.  Dayton took the whole activity a little farther as he played in the tunnel we brought home as well.  He became the big boa constrictor and would go around and swallow up his children!

Sweethearts Dance

Mariah was in charge of the food for the Sweethearts Dance so she and I spent the evening "watching" the dance and refilling the goodies.  Mariah saw the dance from a whole new perspective and decided that high school dances are quite humorous to watch!
