Taking Care of the Dogs

This is to let Cado know that we are spoiling his dogs.  Captain and K.O. each got their own giant bone.  I'm not sure they lasted more than three hours before they were chewed up or buried.  I'm betting K.O.'s is somewhere in the field waiting to be dug up in the near future.

New Car

Yesterday we got a new car.  Yep, that's exciting news for us.  What's not that exciting is that it is exactly like the one we traded in.  The only difference is that it is a little newer, has lots less miles and no longer has our Star Valley Half Marathon and Cado soccer pictures on it.  That's what I will miss the most.
Even the dogs didn't notice anything different when we came home.  It was just the same to them as well.

Mariah's Tennis Banquet

This has been such a great year with tennis for Mariah and tonight was a great way to end it.  She got the Rookie of the Year Award.
 She lettered for Varsity.
And, more than anything...she loved it.

Cado's Favorite Preschoolers

Today at church I was asking Loren Anderson how his family trip to Disney World had been.  He told me that is was good but a lot of work with three little kids.  Then he paused and told me the cutest little story.  He said that his son, Compton (who came to preschool last year when Cado helped out), was telling his friend Zayde (who also came to preschool last year), that he was going on a vacation and didn't know where he was going.  Zayde quickly responded, "I hope you are going to Mexico, because then you could see Cado!"

Needless to say, we all thought that was the cutest thing ever.  These kids love their Cado.

Fall Canning

Blaine's garden has been pretty good this year once again.  I got to spend the last few days doing this kind of stuff.  I've discovered that canning without children is a lot slower!  Cado said we would miss his hard work when he was gone...well, I certainly have!  Not sure what Mariah's excuse is, but up until now, it has been tennis.  We may have to change her fall sport to a sport that doesn't conflict with canning season!

General Conference Time

We finally got tickets to go to General Conference.  It was the first time I had ever gone so that was pretty neat.  It was a beautiful day and we got to meet up with Dayton and Brooke and attend the Saturday afternoon session.  We had lunch at my new favorite place (thanks to Brooke's suggestion).  It is Cous Cous and is in Murray.  It was Greek/Mediterranean food and it was highly competitive with George's Greek Cafe in Long Beach.  It was delicious.  After conference we went to Brooke's favorite dessert place called, City Cakes.  It is heaven for anyone with gluten and dairy allergies.  Good chocolate does still exist for these folks and I was relieved!
Sunday we were back in Roosevelt and enjoyed our traditional turkey dinner.  This year the turkey only had to be a turkey breast and the rolls were a small batch and there were only three potatoes.  My how our table and food intake has shrunk!
