Playing For Courtney

One of Mariah's best friends, Mariah Jensen, suffered a tragic loss of her 18 year old sister, Courtney a few weeks ago.  Mariah Jensen wanted to play a special song for Courtney at her gravesite in hopes that it would help bring her peace.  Mariah and a few of her friends helped her out.  It was a very windy day, but we are sure that Courtney heard it and felt peace.

Dave's Fathers Day

The kids woke up very early Sunday morning to surprise Dave for Father's Day.  When he walked out at 6:15 this is what was sitting at the table for him to eat before he headed to church meetings.  I don't think anything could have made him more happy!

Dayton and Brooke brought him a cute "Dad Stash" of goodies that were meant just for him.  Unfortunately, Cado did not read the memo and pretty much thought it was a Cado stash too.

Cado Turns 18

Cado had his birthday while we were at girls camp so we celebrated it a little late.  He was o.k. with that because he already knew what his presents were and he had ordered them himself.

He did choose cheesecake and shish-ka-bobs for his dinners.

Dayton and Brooke went D.I. shopping for him and found him some great things to wear.  I'm sure this Sky View Superfan shirt will be on the top of his list!

The Pipes are Back!

Our PVC pipes have been one of the first and best toys ever created for our kids.  They have used them for the past 21 years.  Over time we have lost a lot of them and the supply was very low.  The kids have asked us for years to get more pipes!  Well we finally bought another 15 long pipes and the boys cut them up and we bought lots of connectors and as you can tell...everyone is happy building again!

Girls Camp

This year I was the official photographer for Girls Camp (since Carrie decided to go to the Summer Games instead!)  It was a big job, but someone had to be responsible for documenting all the fun that goes on each year for this traditional event!

The most scary part of the journey is simply the busrides there.  Those charter busses really just look like old old school busses to me and I think that prayer is the only thing that gets them up those mountains.

There are always lots of skits and welcoming songs to sing.

These are the ladies I hung out with.  The wonderful thing for us is that we had a real bathroom IN our cabin!

We went on a very long hike to Moose Meadows and guess what we saw???  Yep!...
