Making Do!

Our septic problems have still not been resolved so we are figuring out new ways to live without using water in our house. The ever handy camper has been moved to the driveway and that is now our home for potty and showers. In fact, last night I even had a bath in that baby! The other issue we have had is figuring out how to wash our dishes. We've decided that letting the dogs help out is a win, win situation for all of us!

Washing our clothes is our next challenge. So far though...no one has told us that we stink. We'll take that as a good sign :)

Cado's Sweet 16!

Cado turned 16 yesterday. His buddies came over and surprised him. They hid in the storage room with their evil weapons. They had to wait quite a while and by the time Cado came downstairs...he was quite suspicious!

Needless to say, they still had a great time, ate lots of food and devoured the candybars that were hanging all over the basement.

How To Shower When You Can't Shower

The septic system backed up while Dave was in Orangeville. This basically means that we can't use any water in the house or it comes back up into our food storage room. (It is not a pretty sight.) So needless to say, Mariah put notes everywhere and the boys figured out a way to shower after they dug up the septic tank. That freezing cold water did not look very inviting, but I think they thoroughly enjoyed spraying each other and testing their manhood!

Dave's New Truck

Four wheel drive. A.M. Radio. Keyless start! Really! You just turn the metal part and this baby will start.
Fine exterior with cow poop already on the side!
Well broken in, seat covers, and automatic windows...as long as you can twist them.

You ask yourself...where did a sweet truck like this come from? Well, it came from Grandpa Law's best friend. He had had alzeimers for the past many years so it hadn't been driven much. When he passed away, Dave's dad grabbed at the chance of getting it for FREE! So, $1200.00 later we have our free 1984 GMC. That's exactly how old Dave's other truck was. The boys think this one is awesome though. We were just glad that it made it over the mountain!

Lots and Lots of Family Pics! Grandpa Would be Proud!

Grandpa Law was famous for taking lots and lots of family pictures. He would have been proud of the family pictures we took. We basically think of every and any combination of people and have them take a family pic! Sometimes this tests some of our patience! ha ha

The extended Johnson family. Below are Dave and cousin Wayne. (The other day when Dave was talking about cousin Wayne, he called him "Wayne Snow." Cado had no idea who he was talking about. As soon as we said, "cousin Wayne," he got on track with what Dave was saying. Wayne can never be called Wayne, or Wayne Snow...he will always have to be called "cousin Wayne!)

Grandpa Law's Funeral

Trevor, Dayton and Cado walking to the church. (Trevor is still getting ready.)

The Bowler's and Dagupan's drove from Arizona to be here. They are pretty much adopted into the family!

All the grandson's wore grandpa's ties. Then they all took them home. That pretty much wiped out his supply.

Grandpa Law wanted the grandkids to sing "Love At Home" in Spanish. Here they are practicing. They actually sounded pretty authentic :)
