Camping At Steineker State Park

We actually did something for the 4th of July and were very proud of ourselves for doing so! We decided to go camping. Since we didn't have any idea of where to go, I just typed in state parks and found that Steineker State Park was just 10 minutes outside of Vernal and a very easy drive. It turned out to be the perfect spot.

Mariah made the whole camping preparations so much easier. She is the greatest little planner in the world. We decided on a menu and then she made sure that we had everything that was needed. The only thing missing was an extension cord (but we can't blame her for that.) Anyway, we had tin foil dinners our first night, dutch oven rolls and even a sour cream apple pie. It was yummy!
The Peterson family came up and joined us for dinner the first night. (Thankfully, they brought an extension cord too). We were grateful for our wonderful, old camper every time it rained. Needless to say, we had a great game of Ticket to Ride inside of the camper and we made it outside after the rain, just in time for supper.
