Hey Yall!
Well thank you all so very much for the Easter package, I think I have more candy now than I could ever eat! Well we did have a very fantastic week, and thank you so much for all of the prayers that went in to that. It was pretty much a life changing week for me. I had an amazing experience that changed my mission this past week. It is as follows :
Throughout my mission I have been relying on my own strengths instead of those of the Lord. This past week I had an experience that changed my life. I met a man who I OYM's at the grocery store. We had a great contact and he invited us over for a return appointment. The whole entire week I had been studying faith and what it really means. I was praying to the Lord more than I ever had in the past that he would show me a miracle if I would rely on him with all of my heart. As we went in to the lesson the first words this investigator told me is that he would never be baptized in to our church because he had hated God all of his life and that is just the way that is was going to be. As I started to discern his needs I started asking some of the questions from my question pool that I always ask. I immediately found out that this man was petrified of death and that is what he wanted to learn about. So I said to myself "Elder Law, mission accomplished, good job"! I started to teach him according to that need and it just wasn't heading in the right direction. It was good but it was only good because of Elder Law and not the Holy Ghost. I felt prompted to start trying to discern even further so I did. As I started asking questions, he looked me in the eye and told me that he was never going to tell me anything about him or his past because he didn't trust me. At that point I sighed and said a silent prayer to the Lord pleading with Him to show me the way. At the conclusion of my silent prayer, I opened my mouth and the Lord filled it. Things that I have never said before, questions that I have never before asked, and testimony that I had never before born filled my mouth. At the end of our 45 minute lesson this man looked me dead in the eyes and said that the wisdom I possessed was more than any man he had ever met. He asked how I knew every thought and desire of his heart. I bore testimony of the holy ghost and the member who was with us bore testimony of miracles. As tears filled the eyes of our new investigator he jumped up and wrapped his arms around the member and pleaded with us for the opportunity of baptism. The Lord lives and loves this work, may we all learn to let Him show us the way...
It was probably the best experience of my mission. For the first time I truly did rely on the Lord and he did fulfill every single promise that he has ever made. I gained a very strong testimony that if we will fully put our trust and faith in the Lord that he will completely fulfill. This guy now calls us like every single day to tell us thanks for coming in to his life and for starting to bring to pass a mighty change of heart. Well we should have a baptism this coming weekend. If all goes well Ubong should get baptized this Sunday. In answer to your question Roo, I love my mission and we are very blessed right now because we have 7 people who have committed to be baptized on a certain day! I am glad that you are having fun back at home and I can't believe that I only have 6 months left too!!! ha ha ha Well I have like 2 minutes left so to all of you, I love you all very much and yall are the best. Love Elder Law
